Flowers are so magical, their colour, shape, fragrance…the way they blow in the wind, grow towards the sun, provide food for insects and animals…they are most definitely one of mother earths greatest gifts! Painting them in watercolour is such a joy, and it is a great medium in which to capture all the glory of these blooms.
The cost for this class is US$64.
A little while ago I started to fill a small journal with little botanical flower graphite sketches. Then I started to add a splash or two of watercolour, and the next thing I knew this class was born.
I am especially drawn to the simple beauty of single stemmed flowers, they are resplendent in their individual charm. They shine 🙂
This class incorporates five of my favourites. They are each unique in their personality and character.
There is a happiness and a joy in painting such simple shapes and forms, yet they are also complex and intricate. Layered splashes of colour and scratchy scribbly lines are what really bring out the joy and emotion of each one. Being able to keep things loose is how you capture their essence.

Who is this class for?
This is a beginners to intermediate class incorporating basic watercolour painting and simple drawing techniques. There are 5 full length projects in this class. It is a work at your own pace class. You will gain access to just under 4 hours of video in which I walk you through each step of the projects.
This is an open ended workshop with no expiration date. Plus all the videos are downloadable and yours to keep!
You will have access to my private combined FACEBOOK GROUP with others that are also taking my classes, to share your work and get feedback.

What supplies will I need for the class?
Please use what you already have in your collection. The items below are what I have used in this class.
- Watercolour paper – I use Arches 300gsm cold press – 26 x 18cm (10×7″) – I cut 3 36x26cm sheets in half
- Assorted watercolour paints (tubes or pans)
- Tube white Gouache
- A couple of medium round watercolour brushes
- Graphite pencil 2b & 8b – I prefer either Staedtler Mars Lumograph or a 0.9 mechanical pencil with 2b lead
- Eraser and sharpener
- paper towel
- water and paint palette
