Ever After Book Giveaway!

Eeek!  Guess what I’m reading???

Yes!  the awesome new book from my friend Tamara Laporte!  This is her 2nd book and it’s called “Ever After: Create Fairy Tale-Inspired Mixed-Media Art Projects to Develop Your Personal Artistic Style” !!!  It’s packed full of amazing projects with step by step instructions and glorious images…a joy to behold 🙂

And you can read it too, because I get to give away a copy of this gorgeous book!

Let me tell you a bit more about Tam’s new book in case you haven’t heard about it yet!

Let the wisdom and enchantment of timeless fables and fiction help you achieve your creative goals! From celebrated mixed-media artist and author of “Create Your Life Book” Tamara Laporte, Ever After is a rich collection of step-by-step mixed-media art lessons inspired by fairy tales, folk tales, and classic fiction.

Based on one of Tamara’s popular series of online classes, Ever After addresses the most
frequently asked question she receives from her students: “How do I develop my own creative
style?”  In addition to the beautiful art lessons created especially for this book by Tamara and eight other noted mixed-media artists, each chapter offers creative exercises that invite readers to explore stories, their symbolism, and a specific aspect of style development as they work toward and ultimately achieve their artistic goals.

  • The Story of You. Explore the experiences, feelings, and ideas that stir your passion, and how to adapt and change motifs and other visual elements to make them your own.
  • Inspiration: How to Find It, How to Use It. Examine how to stay open to inspiration, incorporate it into your art practice, and integrate it into your artwork.
  • Comfort Zones & Productivity. Learn strategies for working through your fear and
    dedicating time to your artmaking.
  • Dealing with Challenges & Deepening Your Voice. Find guidance for starting a
mindfulness practice to help you deal with harsh feedback, and for allowing yourself the joy of continually evolving your story, your message, and your style.

Ever After will teach you to tell your own unique stories through artmaking so that your wish—to become the artist you’ve always wanted to be—is sure to come true!

Guest Teachers – Includes lessons and tips from these renowned mixed-media artists:  Kara Bullock, Lucy Chen, Danita Art, Andrea Gomoll, Annie Hamman, Mariëlle Stolp, Effy Wild and Micki Wilde.

  26. Oh Toni Burt!!! What an honor!! I participated in your class during Sketchbook Revival (loves it for the record). I had a feeling of connection to your work, so I googled you, only to discover, I had a Pinterest board of your work!!! Needless to say, your art inspires me. Knowing you have a lesson in the “Ever After” book makes me want to shout from the mountain tops! So many amazing artist’s work features here. For the ones whose work I haven’t had the pleasure of exploring, I’m so excited to meet them in the pages of such a masterpiece of a collection of expression. I’m trying to find my way out of the darkness; to free myself from 28 years of severe depression, traumas, and great angst. My inner child yearns for stories. I was reading by age 4 and have always had my nose in a book, as it was the escape from my life. Who doesn’t long to live in a world of imagination?

  27. Just LOVE fairytales and always have. I did the Ever After class 2 different years too and enjoyed it a lot! Thanks for the chance, Toni!!!

I actually really really really want to win this for a dear friend, who has always wanted to do one of Tams courses, and she even bought one of her standalones but is struggling with her confidence. I would love to win this for her as I know the book would be a wonderful way for her to dip into the lessons with zero pressure and I would of course support her in anyway. The thought of surprising her with this… too wonderful for words.

  40. Adding this wonderful treasure to my collection of books would be so wonderful. All the wonderful artist rolled into one. Whenever I need inspiration, books provide just what you need to get out of your creative funk. Crossing my fingers and toes xxx

  41. Well, first, this is the most beautiful book I’ve ever seen. Second, thank you so much for the giveaway opportunity! Much more importantly, Tamara is such an inspiration to me and her spiritual-creative approach to art has helped me, as a disabled artist, branch out and explore new areas of creative expression after losing many outlets due to illness. It’s like therapy to help me manage my pain and all the emotional consequences of living with chronic illness. I’m learning to reconnect with that wounded part of me so that I can constructively and healthfully work through it all, and I’m eternally grateful. I would adore a copy of my very own. My medical expenses are intense, so this would be truly the greatest gift. This book is the one thing that can help me do better at dealing with my feelings. The lessons will help me find my voice and feel whole within my creative self, and I really need help with that. I fell in love with with mixed media and I love all things magical and fantastical, and I think fairytales are a perfect way for me to regain my confidence and find joy! I’m ready to be free of the obstacles and physical limitations that make their way into my mind and, far too often, nearly convince me that I won’t be able to do this, either. I know this book can help me! I’m ready to step into my own and find the unique, authentic me through my art. It’s come at the perfect time. Thank you again!

    1. Toni, thanks for the chance to win Tam’s book. I enjoy the author and all the artist contributions and owning a copy of the book would be so cool. Something to read and reread for inspiration.
