Watercolour is a wonderful medium for painting the figure. It brings a softness, warmth, and a loose quality that captures emotion and form.

This bundle is a selection of 3 lessons that I filmed as a guest teacher in 3 online workshops in 2020. I bring them to you now as a special bundle to help you with creating your own figurative artworks.
The three lessons are as follows:
Embodied (filmed for Life Book 2020)
Resilience (filmed for Paint Your Heart and Soul 2020)
Strength (filmed for Let’s Face It 2020)
Each lesson is a stand alone lesson so they can be done in any order, and are full and complete. You will learn how to use shapes to set out your figure to get the proportions “just right”, it’s a simple method using graphite pencil linework. Then add light layered watercolours to create depth and form. We leave lots of white space, and I will walk you through each lesson step by step so you can follow along.
There is a step by step pdf instruction booklet for each of the three lessons that you can print out.
This is an open ended workshop with no expiration date. Plus all the videos are downloadable and yours to keep!
Who is this class for?
This class is perfect for beginners and intermediate level artists. The class incorporates basic watercolour techniques with simple sketching. It is a work at your own pace class. You will gain access to around 4.5 hours of video in which I walk you through each step of the projects.
You will have access to my combined private FACEBOOK GROUP with others that are also taking my classes to share your work and get feedback.

What supplies will I need for the lessons?
Please use what you already have in your collection. The items below are what I have used in this class.
- Watercolour paper – 3 sheets at A3 size (29.7x42cm ‘ 12×16″) or 10x14in – I use Arches Cold Pressed
- Watercolour brushes – medium and large round
- Watercolours
- Raw Umber, Ultramarine Blue, Carmine Red, Quinacridone Gold, Raw Sepia
- 2b & 8b graphite pencil – I use Mars Lumograph (any type will work)
- Sharpener and eraser
- Ruler
- Paint palette, water jar, paper towels
- Tracing paper – 3 sheets A4 size (8x10in)
