Capture the essence and charm of a place in this urban sketching course. We’ll use loose wonky linework and flowing bold watercolours to create our scenes.
Description
classroom is open – instant access!
Charming really is the theme with this class! Capture all the character, quaintness, emotion and feeling of those wonderful places you have been and visited. It’s so wonderful to express not only the look of a place, but also its essence in your artworks. The looseness of scribbly sketching, of wonky and wobbly lines, adding loose splashes of colour, it all makes the process fun, and embues that essence into your creation.
The cost for this class is US$54.
This class is 3 lessons, that slowly build on each other. These lessons were originally filmed for the Make Create Express course in 2022.
Our first lesson is a front facing facade in minimal neutral colours, the second and third lessons add a touch of perspective and bolder colours. I’ll talk a bit about basic perpective in those last 2 lessons.
Lesson 1
Create a sense of spontaneity and charm that captures the memory of places you have been and visited. We’ll use messy scratchy penwork and loose flowing watercolours to capture the emotion of place in this front facing building façade.
Lesson 2
When you visit a place that you find magical, sometimes ethereal, it speaks to your heart, it captivates you. In this lesson we will use loose sketchy techniques as well as some basic perspective to create a scene full of character and nostalgia.
Lesson 3
It’s the wonky, wobbly lines and the flowing loose watercolours that capture the emotion of place. In this lesson we will again work with these techniques, along with another look at perspective, to capture the charm in our scene.
This class uses pen and loose layered watercolours and simple basic techniques.
In these lessons you will follow me step by step as we draw and colour our scenes. The course contains around 2.2 hours of video.
This is an open ended workshop with no expiration date. Plus all the videos are downloadable and yours to keep!
Who is this lesson for?
This is a beginners to intermediate class incorporating basic watercolour techniques and simple sketching. It is a work at your own pace class.
You will have access to my combined private FACEBOOK GROUP with others that are also taking my classes to share your work and get feedback.
So easy, informative classes……will even have the non artist like me producing master pieces. Honestly these classes are great fun, with easy to follow steps to suit all levels of expertise. Be warned very addictive, you won’t be able to stop at just one class.
