This class blends all those elements with the super easy to use medium of soft pastels. They are such a lovely tool to use to create magical colour, with a sense of spontaneity.
If you want to make art that is playful and fun to create come and join me as I take you through the process of creating three gorgeous landscapes with a big handful of whimsy!
In this class I will take you through a simple way to choose and create your own colour schemes.
How to draw little thumbnail composition sketches, so you can work out what goes where.
…and then how to layer and blend (or not blend!) the soft pastels.

Who is this class for?
This is a beginners class incorporating basic soft pastel painting/drawing and layering techniques.
There are 3 full length projects in this class. It is a work at your own pace class. You will gain access to around 3.5 hours of video in which I walk you through each step of the projects.
This is an open ended workshop with no expiration date. Plus all the videos are downloadable and yours to keep!
You will have access to my private combined FACEBOOK GROUP with others that are also taking my classes, to share your work and get feedback.

What supplies will I need for the class?
This class uses Soft Pastels (not oil pastels). A set of Sennelier Half Sticks is an excellent option if you don’t own any pastels yet. Get the biggest set you can afford to purchase. The more colours you have the easier it will be to follow along. The items below are what I have used in this class.
SUPPLIES LIST
- 12×12” Textured cardstock or similar tinted paper (I use this one and this one)
- Soft Pastels in various colours – I use (please refer below to the images of the actual colours I use in this class):
- Art Spectrum and Rembrandt (medium hard)
- Sennelier half sticks (softest)
- Schmincke White Pastel (super soft)
- *****(you can get by with just a set of Sennelier Half Sticks at a minimum)
- Pastel pencils – I use Faber Castel Pitt – you really only need black, so you could use a charcoal pencil
- 8b Graphite pencil
- Stabilo All black pencil (optional)
- Rubber spatulas or blending stumps
- Easel
- Cloth rags
- Fixative – I use Krylon Fine Art 1374 – (optional)
- White plain paper & pencil for initial sketches (optional)
