Description

Have you heard the story about the birds and the bee?  It’s a story about softness, about luminosity, about gentleness, and about personality and charm.  Our winged friends are so enchanting, and a sheer delight to paint.  There’s a delicate vulnerability to them that you can capture with the soft and luminous quality of watercolour paint.

The cost for this class is US$59.

For a long time I have been painting with watercolours and I love it.  They are so easy to paint with if you work with them, let them do what they do.  In the past with my painting I have started with pencil first, but I wanted to try my hand at direct watercolour, no pencil, just get in there and put the paint down on that blank white paper.  It’s a different way to work.  And a sheer pleasure.

The natural world is a great place to find your inspiration for this approach, as the organic shapes lend themselves to a loose and free way of applying paint without a pencil line to start with.  You go with the flow so to speak.

This class incorporates five gorgeous fluffy creates, 4 birds  …and a bee, of course 😉  They are each unique in their personality and character.

You will learn how to layer your colours, mix some colours, when to put wet paint in wet paint, and when to let the layers dry before continuing on, all these elements add up to create a lively and soft artwork.

Come and join me and create your own story of “the birds and the bee”.

Who is this class for?

This is an intermediate class incorporating basic watercolour painting and layering techniques.  If you are a beginner to watercolour this class is also suitable for you, however you will need to have some skills with watercolours already.

There are 5 full length projects in this class. It is a work at your own pace class.  You will gain access to around 5 hours of video in which I walk you through each step of the projects.

This is an open ended workshop with no expiration date.  Plus all the videos are downloadable and yours to keep!

You will have access to my private combined FACEBOOK GROUP with others that are also taking my classes, to share your work and get feedback.

My first lesson with Toni was her Tooty Fruity class. As a beginner in watercolor, Toni is a wonderful teacher. She breaks down the steps thoroughly and I was amazed and delighted at my results! I will continue to take many more classes with her. Thank you Toni for sharing your creative gifts with us! – Maria P.
