Animals are the most joyfully emotive creatures, they are full of wonder and charm. How do you capture all of that in your artworks? With vibrant expressive watercolours of course! This class is inspired by Dr. Dolittle and his stories of animals. We will use bold colours, along with loose flowing brushstrokes, and a messy scribbly linework to bring 3 adorable creatures to life. This class is all about colour and includes some colour theory and talk about colour schemes.
The cost for this class is US$54.
This class is 3 full step by step lessons. These lessons were originally filmed for the Willowing Kaleidoscope course in 2023, which is a course all about colour – so we will be using lots of it in this class!

There’s a joy in painting animals, capturing their personalities with paint in bold colours. Each lesson in this class starts with an ink drawing, we add water to create shadows then add our colours, we let the colour flow. We’ll be creating and using the three colour schemes below to paint our artworks, Analogous and Split Complementary.
This class uses pen and ink and loose layered watercolours and simple basic techniques.
In these lessons you will follow me step by step as we draw and colour our animals. The course contains just under 3 hours of video.
This is an open ended workshop with no expiration date. Plus all the videos are downloadable and yours to keep!
Who is this lesson for?
This is a beginners to intermediate class incorporating basic watercolour techniques and simple sketching. It is a work at your own pace class.
You will have access to my combined private FACEBOOK GROUP with others that are also taking my classes to share your work and get feedback.
